They never do what they are told-it’s like the “terrible twos” all of the time, which is pretty unrealistic. Independent toddlers tend to build skills faster and do some things on their own. They toddlers appear to be completely dependent, although in The Sims 4 allows you to choose the “independent” trait, negating this aspect. It’s definitely not overly difficult to care for toddlers in this game, but it’s still an aspect that I really do not like. You still have to potty train them, and you have the option to teach your toddler about animals, shapes, and colors. You still have to feed them (although now if you call everyone to a meal, they can go and get a plate on their own). I admit, in The Sims 4, toddlers are easier to care for, but they are still high maintenance.
Irritatingly, toddlers are impervious to even fire-they literally cannot die-so if a house fire happens in real life, toddlers will survive? I mean, after all, The Sims is a real life simulator. This would make toddlers much easier to take care of. If they are going to be called nannies then we should have them move in with us in this case, we could choose the 5 days a week that they will take care of the kids and house completely. The nannies should really just be called babysitters, as that is all they are. There are nannies you can hire in the game, but they come over and care for the children while you’re at work or out with your friends. In The Sims 4, butlers help children do homework and feed the family, but they do not help take care of the toddlers like they did in The Sims 3. Sure, there is the popular motherlode cheat code that EA put in the game, but not everyone wants to use cheat codes. If you could not afford a butler then you would have to take care of it all yourself. If you had a butler, the butler would take care of the child for you, so this was a relief for simmers like myself.
